Q1. (a) Compare Open Loop and Closed Loop Control System. (b) Draw the electric analog, by f-V and f-I analogy of the mechanical system shown in Fig 1. Write equilibrium equation of the mechanical system. [20 marks]
Q2. Derive the expression for Peak time, Rise time and Settling time for Second Order System. Also discuss the effect of $\xi$ on Second Order System. [20 marks]
Q3. Draw Signal Flow Graph for the block diagram shown in Fig. 2 and find $\frac{C(s)}{R(s)}$. [20 marks]
Q4. Explain the construction and working of Stepper Motor. What are the advantages Stepper Motor and also discuss its applications. [20 marks]

Q5. (a) Explain the concept of Stability and necessary condition for the stability. (b) For the unity feedback system, system is marginally stable and oscillates with frequency $4 \text{ rad/sec}$. Find $K_{mar}$ and $q$ : $$G(s) = \frac{4}{(s^2 + qs + 2K)s}$$ [20 marks]
Q6. Plot the root locus pattern of a system whose forward path transfer function is : $$G(s) = \frac{K}{s(s+2)(s+3)}$$ [20 marks]
Q7. Discuss the design of Phase Lead-Lag Compensation Network using Bode Plot. [20 marks]
Q8. (a) Compare PI and PID controllers. (b) What are the characteristics of P and PI controllers. [20 marks]
