The roof of a hall is 36 m long and 12 m wide between centres of the columns and consists of continuous R.C. slab over rectangular portal frame spaced 3 m apart. The roof is water proofed with tar felt. The portal may be assumed to be hinged at their bases. Design the continuous slab and the one of the intermediate frames and draw a sectional elevation of the portal frame showing the details of the reinforcement. The ceiling height is 3.5 m above the hinge level. Use M 20 concrete and Fe 415 steel.
