A column section ISHB $300$ @ $618\text{ N/m}$ ($f_u = 410\text{ N/mm}^2$ and $f_y = 250\text{ N/mm}^2$) is to be spliced. The factored design loads are : Axial load over the column $= 450\text{ KN}$, Shear force $= 100\text{ KN}$, Bending moment $= 30\text{ KNm}$.
(i) Design the splice plates and bolted connections using bolts of grade $4.6$.
(ii) Design HSFG bolts and revise the splice plate size if possible.
