A hollow circular column of $5\text{ m}$ length, $20\text{ cm}$ external diameter and $14\text{ cm}$ internal diameter is fixed at both ends. It carries a load of $225\text{ kN}$ at an eccentricity of $1.5\text{ cm}$ from the axis of the column. Find the maximum stresses developed. What should be the limiting eccentricity if tension is not to develop ? Take $\text{E} = 9500\text{ kN/cm}^2$.
