(b) A solid wood cylinder has a dia of $0.65 \text{ m}$ and a height of $1.30 \text{ m}$. The specific gravity of the wood is $0.6$. If the cylinder is placed vertically in oil having specific gravity $0.85$, will it be stable ? (7)
(c) A circular plate $2 \text{ m}$ dia is immersed in water, its least and greatest depth below the free surface are $1 \text{ m}$ and $2.45 \text{ m}$ respectively. Find total pressure on one side of the plate, and the depth of the centre of pressure. (7)
